2020: The Clothes We Wore and the Stories They Tell is the first online exhibition from the Robert and Penny Fox Historic Costume Collection at Drexel University (FHCC). The objects included in this exhibition were submitted by members of the Drexel community as the most reflective of their 2020 experience, a year dominated by the Covid-19 pandemic and further marked by racial, social, and political unrest.

The exhibition was created through a call for participation to the Drexel community. The object statements submitted by the lenders are presented in this exhibition with minimal editing, an approach designed to give voice to the variety of experiences during this tumultuous year. Despite the diversity of the exhibition objects, some significant commonalities, such as the universal themes of connection, self-care, social activism, and the struggle to retain a sense of normalcy, are represented. The FHCC is grateful to those who shared their 2020 stories.
